Full Time Janitor/Yard Maintenance

Office: Chestertown, MD

About Us:

We are a Heavy/Highway General Contractor based in Chestertown Maryland. The Company owns and maintains a fleet of over 300 pieces of equipment used in the construction of utilities (sewer, water, storm drain), earthmoving, and asphalt paving with several gravel pits and two asphalt plants.

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled janitor / yard maintenance at our Chestertown, MD office. In this full-time role, you will maintain the cleanliness and appearance of our heavy equipment and automobile shop, as well as our main office facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for detail and take pride in creating a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities to be Performed Daily:

• ​​​Clean and sanitize shop and office areas, including workstations and restrooms.

• Sweep and mop shop and office floors to maintain a clean and safe environment.

• Remove trash from shop and offices then dispose of waste materials properly.

• Weed, remove cobwebs from windows and doorways, maintain entrances, and other yard maintenance as assigned.

• Remove recycling from shop and offices including breaking down cardboard boxes. 

• Perform other miscellaneous cleaning tasks as needed.

Additional Duties:

• Assist with other tasks as directed by the shop foreman.

Work Environment:

• Work in various weather conditions.

• Be available during shop hours and flexible to adjust as needed.​​

Physical Requirements: 

• Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 75 to 100 lbs.

• Ability to climb stairs and work in various physical positions.

• Must pass a pre-employment drug test and participate in monthly random drug testing.

Position Type & Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week). Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.​
