We are a Heavy/Highway General Contractor based in Chestertown Maryland. The Company owns and maintains a fleet of over 300 pieces of equipment used in the construction of utilities (sewer, water, storm drain), earthmoving, and asphalt paving with several gravel pits and two asphalt plants.
About the Role
David A. Bramble, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized Accounting Clerk to join our Finance and Accounting Department. This full-time, salaried position supports job billing, subcontractor payments, lien-waiver tracking, asphalt plant billing, customer credit administration, accounts receivable, and accounting record maintenance.
The ideal candidate is accurate, dependable, responsive, and able to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment. We are looking for a cooperative team player who communicates professionally, willingly assists others, and maintains a courteous and service-oriented approach with coworkers, customers, subcontractors, and vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process job billings and customer invoices.
- Coordinate subcontractor invoices, approvals, payments, and required supporting documentation.
- Request, track, and maintain lien waivers and subcontractor compliance records.
- Support asphalt plant billing by compiling tickets, reconciling quantities, and resolving discrepancies.
- Assist with customer credit applications and accounts receivable follow-up.
- Maintain complete, accurate, and accessible accounting records.
Qualifications:
- At least three years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, billing, or a comparable administrative role.
- Working knowledge of basic accounting and bookkeeping principles.
Strong numerical, data-entry, organizational, and problem-solving skills. - Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other business software.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Professional communication skills and ability to maintain confidential information.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Construction accounting, contractor billing, lien-waiver, Viewpoint software, or asphalt plant billing experience is preferred.
