Transportation Clerical Assistant
Office: Chestertown, MD
About Us:
We are a Heavy/Highway General Contractor based in Chestertown Maryland. The Company owns and maintains a fleet of over 300 pieces of equipment used in the construction of utilities (sewer, water, storm drain), earthmoving, and asphalt paving with several gravel pits and two asphalt plants.
About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized individual to provide clerical assistance to the Dispatcher of a Heavy Highway Construction Company.
Essential Duties:
- Answer phones
- Filing
- Data entry
- Support Dispatcher and Fleet Manager
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned
Other Duties:
Support other administrative personnel within the office as needed.
Hours:
- 40 hours per week
- 7:00am to 4:00pm
Education/Experience:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel; experience with Office 365 is a plus
- Ability to operate a multi-line phone and use proper phone etiquette
- Internet savvy and able to read maps
- Strong interpersonal skills; able to work with multiple personalities and customers
- Data entry is a key component of this position; must be detail-oriented
- Experience in the Construction and/or Transportation industry is a plus, but not mandatory
Physical Requirements:
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test
- Random drug testing is performed monthly
